landed here today in melbourne about 8am local time. the flight from LAX to AU actually wasn’t too bad! watched movies, ate, and slept. but i’m still running on zero right now. walked around the city for a little day and got some lunch. we’re probably going to a rugby game tonight. i added new pics to my flickr!

my hard drive crashed on my mac ahhhh! it took me a week to get it back up and running but everythings straight now. failure is no good.

so finally came to a reasonable solution for the 35mm adapter.. apparently if you rip off a piece of plastic from your brandy new cam and poke some object in this one area it’ll flip the image on the lcd screen, which means it’ll flip back the right way because the adapter flips it upside down (don’t ask why) thank sam for the hint

these are by far the best days of the year- when its sunny and warm, yet cool enough so the snow’s not all slush.. you can shred in a light coat and take your glove off without your hand freezing. the past 2 days have been filled with the sorts of things i’m talking about and as you might imagine it was pretty rad. i did this sick nosegrab but tighe managed to not get my head in the frame. (but o the power of photoshop)

it was thought that this winter might actually end without another snowfall.. this weekend proved that theory wrong as we got a solid 6 in. if this wasn’t good enough the weather cooperated quite nicely on Sunday for a super good film session in the backyard. i’ll put a video up in a day or too. check out some of the pics bro took. subjects = tighe and kyle.

went to the rail comp in NYC last night. it was prettty much the same as last year. a little better setup. i planned my angle a little further in advance. but there were still 50 people there shooting this thing, so not really like your going to get to unique of an angle or edit.

rode the train into the city. lucky for me it was student-ride-free week. that was nice that lined up with the date of the competition.

thought for a half a second about trying to get somewhere in through this crowd to get an angle.

but that’s about as long as that idea lasted…

went to the 4th floor of barnes and noble across the street.. attempted to tripod it and got told to move within 10 min. yet there was a guy 5 feet to my left who was allowed to stay. i found the manager and asked a couple questions and it was obvious that one of the big sponsors was paying them to only let 1 filmer up there. lame.

i then went down a floor to the starbucks section and filmed from that window. no one bothered me the whole night.

overall pretty good night. the best part was probably not knowing the train schedule home and running into the station as my train read ‘all aboard’ on the tv. i thought it’d still be worth a shot to get to. jumped on and it pulled away a minute later. it wouldn’t have been cool to sit there for another hour for the next one.
